Vintage Sterling Silver c1980s High Relief Violets Oval Locket Chain Hallmarks

This is a vintage c1980s High Relief Violets Locket & Chain

The item is in very good vintage condition. Looks as if it has never been used.

The locket opens and snaps shut securely. Marked on the locket bail and clasp
is Sterling and on the locket is Sterling Silver and IPS (IPS - Imperial Pearl
) founded by Joseph Gladstone in 1917 and maker of high end pearl necklaces -
also had a brand Marslieu who made sterling jewellery. It became Imperial Pearl
Syndicate in 1941 and was sold to Sidney Weiss in 1969 who then sold it to the
Waltham Watch Co in 1971 then to Bazar Group in 1977 and operated under the
name IPS. In June 1995 IPS was merged with Pearls by Deltah and is now
Imperial-Deltah Inc.

The locket is quite large at 4cms by 3cms without the bail. The chain is just
over 60cms or just under 24 inches. The total weight is 15.5gms. The locket has
what is called high relief to the front with violet flowers. ie they are raised
up or 3D.
