Locket dimensions (including halter) = 32mm (L) x 21mm (W) approx.
Weight = 6.1 grams approx.

A delightful antique locket from the late Victorian period, oval in shape and
with shield cartouches to both sides, surrounded by fine engraving. The shield
cartouche to the front features a hand-engraved flower. Inside is an old
photograph of a woman with dark, curly hair. A beautiful and elegant antique
pendant.

What is Gold "Back and Front"?
Lockets that are described as gold back and front have solid gold fronts and
solid gold backs, usually with a hard-wearing base metal serving as the hinge
and inner sections. These base metal sections were often gold plated to give an
overall gold appearance. Back and front pieces were able to be engraved and are
long-lasting pieces of jewellery.

CONDITION
In good antique condition, with some surface wear commensurate with age. The
locket opens and closes as it should. There are some light dents to the shield
cartouches as shown.
