Another mala of very small beads as people are enjoying them and they are so
very wearable - a beautifully delicate hand-knotted full mala of 5 and 6mm pale
amethyst, labradorite and moss agate. The sumeru is of faceted green agate with
sterling silver caps, and all the other metal components are sterling or Hill
Tribe Silver. The tassle is of special embroidery cotton secured with silk
thread.
I've made a bag from quality cotton fabric to keep it safe.

Whilst many will want this mala to wear, you may be drawn to use it for
meditation. Instructions on the traditional technique are included.

I am a traditional yoga teacher with well over 25 years experience. I have
always knotted malas for students, usually of the traditional beads: tulsi,
rudraksha, sandalwood and quartz. People sometimes ask for gemstone malas and
I've really enjoyed the process of making them. And so I decided to set up an
Etsy store.

Malas are traditionally used for meditation and have 108 beads (54 in
half-malas). The bead on the end at the tassel is not used as a 'counter' but
is the sumeru; there to let you know you have completed a 'round'.
Usually malas are used in multiples of 27. My malas will often have markers at
the 27, 54 and 81 marks.

I only use quality gemstones and/or other natural beads, all metals are either
sterling silver, Hill Tribe silver, copper or bronze, and my malas are made
meditatively and with love.
